Judy Moline
Memorial Collection
Lost to family and friends too early due to ALS,
Judy Moline was a generously talented
pollyanna who died in 2010 of Amyotrophic
Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s disease. An
amazingly articulate inventive person, artist and quilter,
Judy taught herself to watercolor after her ALS diagnosis. She gave away or donated most of her creations and Northwoods Friends of the Arts is the recipient of Judy Moline’s collection of unframed watercolor paintings which include interesting well done portraits. These watercolors are for sale this month at the NWFA Gallery.
Judy was a talented seamstress who sewed Girl Scout uniforms for her girls, was a costume designer and hat maker extraordinaire for a high school production of “My Fair Lady”. As an artist, cakes were decorated, tables and bird houses were made of twigs, quilts were appliquéd, furniture reupholstered and she drew creative cartoons for birthdays and other occasions. In her professional life she was a high school guidance counselor and always a loving wife and mother, caring friend and thoughtful listener. She was an ambitious, creative, independent and supportive woman who inspired people she met right up to the last day of her life.
