Spring Art Expo

Wednesday, June 3 (reception night) until Saturday, June 25, 2022, Northwoods Friends of the Arts celebrates its annual Spring Art Expo at the NWFA Gallery in Cook, MN.  June is the month NWFA celebrates its annual meeting (June 28th 5 p.m.) and a reception for artists.  Many other special events are planned including Cook’s Timber Days celebration (June 10th, 11th & 12th).

Meet local artists.  Attend the celebration reception for Spring Art Expo on Friday, June 3rd at 210 S. River Street in Cook from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M..  The gallery sits next to Dreamweaver Spa and Salon right behind the big Spruce tree!  There you will find books, calendars, greeting cards, paintings, prints, sculptures, books by local authors and sewing and knitted crafts.

The Spring Art Expo is a once a year opportunity for member artists, who may be neighbors, friends or family, to exhibit and sell art and crafts without exhibit fees.  Artists will keep all the proceeds from items sold during the month of June.

Included in the Spring Art Expo is the big raffle ticket sale.  Tickets are $5 and the winner (name drawn on Aug. 5th) will chose between 50% of the cash ticket sales or a beautiful acrylic painting by Jim DeVries called “Old Rocky”.  The cash is quite substantial after selling tickets from June 1st until August 5th.  The second winner will receive the prize that the first winner did not choose.

NWFA exhibits the works of 30 to 40 artists and crafters year round.  This Summer the gallery, again, has an outstanding schedule of classes and events for adults and children.  Lists of classes are available at the gallery during open hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wed., Thurs and Fri..  Saturdays the gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m..  NWFA also sponsors crafts for kiddos during Cook Timber Days (near the gazebo on Fri., June 10th, 1 to 4 p.m. & Sat., June 11th, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.), concerts, including Music in the Park (Beginning Wed., June 15th) and the annual event concert each Summer.  2022 will feature in concert August 5th “The Blue Water Big Band”.   See the website, NWFAMN.ORG.COM as well as FaceBook .  Additional information may be found by writing an email to nwfamn.org@gmail.com.  NWFA, Inspiring, Celebrating and Nurturing the Arts in the region of Cook, MN.
